The Africa Internet Business Summit is off to a promising beginning. The event which was organized by Afrinet Business solutions with a view to increasing the volume of internet business in Nigeria and empowering Nigerians to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the internet, features experts in internet business from all over the world. The professionals are; Daven Michaels, Allicia Lyttle, Willie Crawford, Louis Brown, Tim Johnson, Allyn Cutts, Akin Alabi , Ifiok Nkem, Ronald Nzimora, Toyin Omotoso and Victory Akpomedaye.
Former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel who was present at the opening session praised the organizers of the event. He noted that technology is the new frontier and that information technology is Africa’s opportunity to catch up with the rest of the world. He expressed confidence that with IT, Africa and Africans will finally close the gap that has been created by industrialization; which the continent missed out on. Governor Daniels urged everyone to seize the advantage presented by the summit.
Day 1 (Monday, November 4) saw lectures from internet marketing expert Allicia Lyttle, outsourcing guru Daven Micheals, the Joint Venture King Willie Crawford, internet business solutions provider Allyn Cutts as well as the organizer of the summit and Afrinet CEO Dr. Ope Banwo. Dr. Banwo who opened the summit noted that the Nigerian internet market is perfectly positioned for discerning entrepreneurs. He stated that now is the time for businesses to go online adding that in the next few years it will be too late. Dr. Banwo urged businesses to go online or risk certain death in the next three to four years.
In a very educative session, internet marketing expert Allicia Lyttle explored various techniques by which one can make money from the various social media platforms especially facebook. Daven Micheals then took the class on a very entertaining but rich session where he pointed out the key to living ones dream while making money using the power of the internet. Willie Crawford who has been making money online for almost two decades revealed the various methods individuals could use affiliate marketing as a legal money earning mechanism while Allyn Cutts who is a global market leader explained how to use the simple money system and pure leveraging to generate wealth.
Participants had the opportunity to interact with these gurus and others who didn’t speak on the first day; they got to network with them and build up their knowledge base. Some who choose to will be participating in programs to further their knowledge like Allicia Lyttle’s boot camp for social media marketing which is scheduled to hold on Monday. The organizer of the event, Dr. Banwo encouraged people who missed out of the first day to join the boat for the second and third days (November 5 and November 6, 2013) so as not to miss out entirely on the benefits of the program.
