Traffic was at a standstill at major streets of Lagos today as drivers and pedestrians went agog in a bid to feed their eyes as dancers shook their waists to the rhythm of Fela Kuti’s song. A man who mimicked the late Afro-beat legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti was quite a sight to behold in his white pant and musical instrument which he hung on his neck.
Felabration, an annual musical arts festival was created in 1998 to commemorate the life and times of the late Fela. The festival always included diverse activities from schools in Lagos state, photo exhibitions, exciting performances and of course the street carnival which was a great spectacle today.
