Pre Lagos International Fashion Exhibition Interview with the GoodLife Promotions Crew
It was an interesting interview session when the goodlife crew met with the organizers of the Lagos International Fashion Exhibition 2013.
Sitting across Mr. Ayo paul olugbade, International Sales Project Manager, Meridyen International Nigerian Limited, the company organizing this event, in a posh office with a beautiful seaside view and munching some really nice chocolate we began the chat
Ques: Sir, what is the Lagos International Fashion Exhibition about?
Ans : The Lagos international fashion exhibition is an event showcasing both local and international designers and manufacturers exhibiting their designs and fabrics to a highly fashionable audience
Ques: Is there an open call for all designers to participate?
Ans : absolutely yes, it is an event open to all designers, there will not only be international designers our own local designers will be actively involved. There will be more than forty designers from Poland and turkey and so on. We are going to be having more than fifty-Five designers both local and international, showcasing their works, and it is a forum for Nigerian designers to compete favorably with other international designers to boost their profile.
Ques: Apart from Ankara what other designs can the Nigerian industry use as a leverage when it comes to international fashion?
Ans: there are so many fabric we can still use as a leverage , we have the Aso oke , Adire and the likes.
Ques: In five years’ time, where do you see Nigerian fashion designers viz- a- viz global fashion trend?
Ans: I see Nigerian designers partnering with their international counterpart and coming up with more quality designs that can be exhibited anywhere in the world.
Ques: After the event what is the next step for you as an organizer to help keep the Nigerian industry trending?
Ans: We are already working on another international exhibition outside the country where Nigerians will be actively involved.
The Lagos International Fashion Exhibition is showcasing both fabric manufacturing companies and designers on the 8-10 0f October 2013 at the Eko Hotel and Suites, VI, Lagos. It promises to be a fantastic event for those who have a high taste in fashion and are “Fashion forward”.
